Several Shardok profession commands also depend on the attached battalion type. For example, many magic commands require a battalion type that allows casting, and stealth commands require a battalion type that allows stealth.
### Profession Effects At A Glance
**Active** means a command only that profession can use. **Semi-active** means a normal command or phase action is available without the profession, but the profession improves or changes it. **Passive** means the effect happens automatically, without the hero selecting a profession-specific command. A dash means there is no profession-specific effect in that category.
#### Eagle Effects
| Profession | Eagle Active | Eagle Semi-Active | Eagle Passive |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Mage](#mage) | [Control Weather](/commands/#control-weather): start or end a blizzard or drought in the acting province or a neighboring province. | — | — |
| [Necromancer](#necromancer) | [Start Epidemic](/commands/#start-epidemic): start an epidemic in the acting province or an eligible neighboring province. | — | — |
| [Engineer](#engineer) | — | [Improve](/commands/#improve): add 2 to the improvement or devastation repair produced by the command. | — |
| [Paladin](#paladin) | — | [Alms](/commands/#alms): multiply the support gained from donated food by 4. | — |
| [Ranger](#ranger) | [Recon](/commands/#recon): gather intelligence about an eligible province. | — | — |
| [Champion](#champion) | — | [Train](/commands/#train): add 4 training to every trainable battalion affected by the command. | — |
| [Warden](#warden) | — | — | Each new round, add 10 faction bias toward the ruling faction for prisoners held in the Warden's province, improving their future recruitment odds. |
Every profession other than **NoProfession** also adds 200 to Eagle's generic hero-power calculation and 50 to the hero-power calculation used when cracking down on a riot. Because those shared passive effects do not differ by profession, they are not repeated in every row.
